As a cornerstone of its 2008-2009 season, Santa Fe New Music will present “The Language of Birds,” a two-act opera originally premiered in 2004 by the Sarasota Opera and based on an award-winning children’s book, and showcased at the 2004 “Opera America” convention. The opera features a cast of 100 children ages 8-18, working with a professional production and artistic team, and supported musically by a professional chamber orchestra comprised of members of the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra. The opera will enjoy three performances in Santa Fe on March 27 and 28, and one performance at the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque on March 29, 2009.
