Sarah Cahill: Playdate
Saturday, March 4, 2006, Unitarian Universalist Church, 2 pm

Santa Fe New Music’s 5th Anniversary Season continued on March 3 and 4 with concerts by one of the legendary performers of American new music, Bay Area pianist Sarah Cahill.

On Saturday, March 4, at 2 p.m., Cahill presented a 60-minute program of piano music with works written for children or about childhood. The concert includes such classics as Claude Debussy’s Children’s Corner Suite and Robert Schumann’s Kinderszenen, as well as recent works by Frederic Rzewski and SFNM’s John Kennedy, his 2005 The Family Piano.

While children were welcome at this concert, it was emphatically not a children’s concert, and music lovers of all ages enjoedy this unique musical tribute to childhood.
